About Me

   Hello!    Cześć!     Aloha!
                   Bienvenue!    Ciao!    Guten tag!
                                     Hola!   Salut!   Bonjour!    Konichiwa!

I like to make stuff.
I like to share what I make.

I have a "what if" way of navigating through a project.

        I am a restless soul.

I find myself moving from one art form to another.

                            I am a wanderer.

So my projects become artistic wanderings.

I am in constant motion......  wandering.

This blog is a place to share my wanderings with you.

My creative interests:
This is in "alphabetical" not "amount of clutter" order.
art journals, baking, beading, book binding,card-making, collage, cooking, crochet,
decorating, embroidery, gardening, jewelry, knitting, mixed media, painting,
paper crafts, photography, quilting, rubber stamping, sewing, weaving.

I love how so many creative endeavors overlap and compliment each other.

I am pretty fearless when it comes to trying new techniques.
I tend to jump in with both feet.

I love to learn all the rules.... so I can break them.

Yes, I love owls too.

I read a lot.
 I love books..... real books.
 I also read magazines
I read the words on
nutritional labels.
I read directions.
I read fine print.
I know how to read a map.

the ferns in our forest
I love dogs.
I love to wander with my dogs through our forest.

I created a private sanctuary for old dogs and dogs with special needs. I was one step away from becoming a 501(c)3 non profit organization but knew I would not follow all the rules so I had to downsize and adjust the plan.

Sometimes reading all the rules can keep you from realizing a dream.....

but it can also keep you from getting in over your head.

I am married to "The Lifeguard".  He is the yin to my yang.
He is a workaholic....I am not.   He is athletic...I am not.

The Lifeguard and I live on the edge of a small town in Maryland.
Our home is hidden in a 23 acre forest.  The forest is home to deer, foxes, groundhogs, wild turkeys, birds, owls, a redtail hawk, and a blue heron.
Our nearest "neighbors" are a 300 acre corn field and a 75 acre tree farm. Our nearest live neighbors are a couple of horses, a few alpaca, some cows, two emus, a goat and a llama. There are a few human neighbors...
                               .....but not many.

I love to travel.
I have been to 49 states in the US.          Alaska is next on the list.
Then I will gather my courage to travel to Europe, Africa, and Australia

Shadie on Dog Beach... Bonita Springs, FL

 I love the beach

climbing right up a brick wall

We have snakes in our attic.  I am ok with this.
They keep the rodent population in check.
We also have huge spiders.
I am not ok with the spiders
                                But
       I believe that
                 "Thou shalt not kill"
                            applies to all  creatures

and I feel awful when I
       accidentally  kill a spider with
                                a reflex slap or stomp.

I blog for fun, connectons and friendship.

I do not make any money with my blog.

If I offer advice here on my blog or in person....
you have my permission to ignore it.

I love the blogging community

I love the friends I have met.

You are all an inspiration to me.

It is my hope to be a source of  inspiration for you.

But more that
....it is my hope that we will become good friends.

I just found your blog through Sandra's blog. Your "about me" was fun to read (all except the snake part!) You are much braver than I would be - I don't think I could sleep at night if I thought there were snakes anywhere in my house! One time, there was a snake skin outside the front walk way and I wouldn't enter the house that way for about six months.

I look forward to checking out your blog more thoroughly. :)
