The Dog Days of Summer

Family vacations, obligations, destinations keep bloggers away from their readers.
I see more and more apologies for being absent.
 it's summer - time
Relax !
Kick back
Have a tall cool drink

with scorching temperatures
long humid nights and
lazy afternoons

lucky to have my camera nearby to get this shot.

the
Dog Days of Summer are upon us.
This time of year is an in-between time.
It doesn't seem to have its own Spirit
It's vacation time yes....but there is a lull in the action.
Time slows down
So to fill the void
we have

Back to School sales
( who really wants to think about school? )

Christmas in July sales
!!!!
 ( I have to admit I love these )
I had wanted to call this a Christmas in July giveaway
but that would take all the fun out of the giveaway I have planned for December.

So with out any further blathering

lets get to the giving part

announcing
RuffHaven's

My thoughts on blog giveaways:
Ever since I held my first giveaway I was hooked. I love giving stuff away.
I love my readers.
So whats wrong with giving some good stuff to my readers?
With all the blogs out there you choose to read mine.
That means a lot to me.
We share ideas, art, techniques, ups and downs.
We share life's adventures, stories of our families, our babies and our pets.
We ARE  a family of sorts and families give each other gifts.
We give our time, our words and our souls to our readers.
All of these have value....

more value then and material item can equal

We give of ourselves everyday in ways that are hard to understand unless....
you are one of us.

The rest of the world might not ever "get it".

 Bloggers "get it"

Friends have each others backs

You wanted to see the whole prize???
no no no my friends...

Come back Monday to see more details about this great giveaway prize

let me tell you this joke...before I forget

A group of 15-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Dairy Queen next to the Ocean View restaurant because they had only $6.00 among them and Jimmy Johnson, the cute boy in Social Studies, lived on that street.

10 years later, the group of 25-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the beer was cheap, the restaurant offered free snacks, the band was good, there was no cover and there were lots of cute guys.

10 years later, the group of 35-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the cosmos were good, it was right near the gym and, if they went late enough, there wouldn't be too many whiny little kids.

10 years later, the group of 45-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the martinis were big and the waiters had tight pants and nice buns.

10 years later, the group of 55-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the prices were reasonable, the wine list was good, the restaurant had windows that opened (in case of a hot flashes), and fish is good for cholesterol.

10 years later, the group of 65-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the lighting was good and the restaurant had an early bird special.

10 years later, the group of 75-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the food was not too spicy and the restaurant was handicapped-accessible.

10 years later, the group of 85-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner.
Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant .......
because they had never been there before.

Where Bloggers Create 2011

I am participating in Karen Valentine's 3rd annual  blog party this year.

I know you have so many rooms to visit
so I will keep this short.
My space is in my basement
I use elfa storage system to house my supplies.
It is not a pretty room, but it is organized and functional,
which suits my needs perfectly.

So.....what do I create here?

I am a papercrafter, rubber stamper, quilter, collage artist, painter,
and lover of all things crafty.
here is where most of my rubber stamps live

most drawers are three layers deep and packed full

I store most stamps based on a theme or image

 paper ..etc..

 more paper

My light table, more stamps and drawers full of paper punches

thought you might need to see that rubber stamp storage again

this side of the room is home to beads, embellishments, ribbon

this wall holds inks, paints, odds and ends and projects in progress

edited to add....
as one of my friends has pointed out...
I did not show you the six tables in the middle of the room ,
nor did I show you the fourth wall...
um
well
Both areas are still in a state of chaos.
I am working on it  and hope to have
 photos posted very soon.
So after you visit everyone else...
come back here to see the rest of my room.
and then come back again next week...
Because I am going to have another
 HUGE giveaway.
You won't want to miss it.

edited again to add:
Well it looks like it's going to take a bit longer to get that fourth
wall in shape.
While working on the clean up I git distracted by some pretty paper and some ink...
then I sorrt of pulled out a few tons of fabric
and paint and
well
It's a mess again

Thanks to Karen for all of her work organizing
Where Bloggers Create
She has a long list of hundreds of blogs in her sidebar
to give you hours and hours of ideas and inspiration for your space.
Please come back again soon.

I would love it if you would subscribe or follow my blog.
