I love how our lives are woven together.

paws and think

I spent two days last week
trying to help some old dogs find  new homes.
You have no idea how hard it is for me to look at an old dog and ask
why?

Why does this dog not have a home?

if you are thinking about getting a puppy
remember this

My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years.
Any separation from you will be painful.
Remember that before you get me.

Give me time to understand what you want of me.

Place your trust in me--it is crucial to my well-being.

Do not be angry at me for long and
do not lock me up as punishment.

You have your work, your entertainment, and your friends.
 I only have you.

 Talk to me sometimes.
Even if I don't understands your words,
I understand your voice when it is speaking to me.

Be aware that how ever you treat me, I will never forget.

Remember before you hit me that I have
teeth and I could easily hurt you,
but I choose not to bite you because I love you.

Before you scold me for being
uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy,
ask yourself if something might be bothering me.
Perhaps I might not be getting the right food,
or I have been out too long,
or my heart is getting too old and weak.

 Take care of me when I get old;
you too will grow old.
Go with me on difficult journeys.
Never say:
 "I cannot bear to watch."
 or
"Let it happen in my absence."
Everything is easier for me if you are there,
 even my death.

 Remember that I love you.

summer's end

I thought you might like to see a few photos I took while in Hawaii a few years ago.
This little girl was so adorable as she played on the shoreline.

and this one is my favorite
I would love to know what she is thinking.

wordless monday???

Yay !   My knitting lessons are worth every penny !

post card mail art

Just wanted to pop in and show you what I made out of a gift bag, a napkin and some lace paper.
Lenna has organized another post card swap and I could not resist playing along.
But of course I procrastinated and the due date snuck up on me........
so I gathered a few things that were nearby and made three small  post card collages.

Hope you are enjoying these last few days of Summer.

Top 5 ways to tell if you are a Real Quilter

First an update for the stay at home round robin.
round two - we were asked to incorporate triangles in a three inch border.
I chose to make mine irregular and I will add some decorative stitching
to give it a crazy quilt effect.

Are you a Quilter?
Just in case you were wondering.....
here are 5 tell tell signs

there's more fabric than food in your house

your ironing board is always set up ....but you never iron clothes

you believe in UFOs

you have called off work more than once because you needed to finish a project

if you clean up your sewing room your family thinks you are leaving home

Are you laughing?
Are you nodding your head?
Do at least four of these statements apply to you?

Welcome !
