I love how our lives are woven together.
.

Postage Due ! and a Giveaway too !

It's my turn in the  Stamp on it blog hop with Sew We Quilt.

This time we were given the task to design a postage stamp.   I found this project to be quite a challenge mostly because I got sidetracked ..... or I should say
.....something came up that took my complete attention.......

You see I recently found out I am going to be a grandmother.......

.... pretty much everything else kinda-sorta took a backseat to that.

So now with the first wave of excitement under control I can  get back to creating fun stuff.

This is my second hop with Sew We Quilt and I want to thanks Madame Samm and Thearica for organizing and keeping us on track. I now know  how frustrating their task must be.
You see.....I almost backed out.
But a few words from Thearica set me back on track.
Well enough of that.....you came to see the stamp.

When the theme was announced as "Stamp On It"
I knew right away that I had to use
some rubber stamps and ink on it.

The fabric is  Earthtones by Norman Wyatt jr for P&B Textiles
I really can't take all the credit for the collage
because the fabric is doing most of the work.
finished size 18"x21"

There were a few "rules"
we had to include a place and a price.
Since I live at RuffHaven I chose that as my place.
And postage is now $.46  for a first class forever stamp...
but I screwed up and left out the 6.

ooopsie

I added some fused applique and some
ink here and there for tiny accents .

I scattered a few small paw prints and words around
and decided to stop before I mess it up.

For the stamp edge I used one of
those pre-printed panels  that had a state stamp on it.
I knew I would never make that project
so the sacrifice was easy.

Since it is probably going to be a wall hanging
only  a bit of quilting is all it needed.
A little play with words
for my "forever" stamp

It was a quick and easy project but just before I added the binding I decided it needed to be bigger. I have a few yards of that fabric so this is going into my UFO pile and will become part of a quilt.

What's one more UFO? Right?

wait!

 ONE MORE THING !

And even though my last giveaway prize was lost by the USPS
( how ironic )  I am offering a prize with this post .
Everyone who leaves a comment on this post
will be entered into a drawing for
a gift card from Amazon !
This giveaway is for everyone.
But if you are part of the hop your name will be entered twice.

Comment by 11:00pm July 3rd to be entered into the drawing.
I will announce the winner on July 5th.
I will send the card by email.
Can't trust that darn USPS anymore.

a winner will be announced on July 5th

First off CONGRADULATIONS!! A gramma! How wonderful is that. Second, I am thrilled that they were able to persuade you to stay in the hop and create this fabulous "stamp". I like yours much better than the PO. LOL!! Those were the days! Great Job...
