I have been a part of this wonderful community of
quilting hoppers for a few months now and I have enjoyed
each one so much. But I am going to have to step
back a bit as we are getting busy
preparing for the arrival of the baby.
There are only so many hours in the week
and I have so much sewing and painting
and shopping to do.
I will be around,
but mostly on instagram and facebook.
I would love it if you would follow me over there.
I want to thank Madame Samm and Kristen for
all the hard work they did to put this hop together.
Today is my day to share my pincushions.
I have to admit I don't use a pin cushion.
because
I rarely use pins.
Mostly because I am afraid I might drop one
and it would end up in a doggie paw
or worse, a doggie tummy.
Mostly because I am afraid I might drop one

or worse, a doggie tummy.
But
pincushions are cute
and
a great way to use up scraps.
So I made one.
Actually, I made two,
but Tucker got a hold of one and I can't find it.
I just hope he didn't eat it.
I have been seeing some pretty wonderful pincushions this week.
But for me a pincushion is utilitarian.
With that said I did "cutsiefy" this little cushion with a birdie.
( have you noticed I seem to be in a bird phase )
( I hope it ends soon )
This little birdie pincushion was made from scraps leftover from the owl quilt I made for the hexagon hop.
I made this little pumpkin ten years ago,
I think.
Not sure, could be even longer than that.
anyway these two will be enough for me
Hope you are having fun with this hop.
I have seen some very very pretty pincushions and
if I am not careful I could become a collector.
Those of you who really know me
know that this is so possible.

Cute bird! And a nice hexie pincushion.
Cute pincushions..love that pumpkin! Thanks for sharing :)
Very nice pincushion! A nice way of using hexies.
I liked your pincushions. I do use pincushions.....because I tend to use pins as well. No doggy (or cat) paws have been affected just yet.... Mine have though.....a lot...In spite of all the pincushions around! Have fun preparing for the baby. I am following you on instagram and facebook now too!
They are nice.
Warm regards from Holland,
Marga♥
Your pincushions are truly nice.. I love that pumpkin!
Congratulations on the upcoming bundle of joy... While we will miss you on the hops, we know you will be super busy loving and cuddling that precious wee one.
Cute pincushions - I like the pumpkin!
Very nice pincushions, thank you for sharing!
Tucker knows a good thing when he sees it...lol
Cute little birdie pc! I do use pins, in spite of having a cat, but I do keep count and if one is missing, a hunt begins. I've had many decades of quilting/sewing and several cats and dogs and not one pin has ever gone missing. Best of luck with the upcoming baby!
Very cute. The pumpkin is darling too.
Your bird is so cute, as is the pumpkin.
all the best with your new addition to your lives and loves...nice pc's
I love your little birdie. He is absolutely adorable.
I love that pumpkin...so cute!
Sweet pumpkin and bird. Pincushions are useful, but they can be cutesy too. Glad you joined in the hop.

Love your birdie pin cushion. Heck we all need phases! :-)
Cute and great use of a hexie too. I can't imagine not using pins--yikes! You go girl:) Thanks for sharing.

Lovely pincushions, perfect pumpkin
Cute hexie pincushion to go along with the adorable pumpkin. Have fun prepping for the new baby!

The pumpkin is very cute and I love the little bird.
The pumpkin is cute.
Hi Marianne,
Firstly, I have to ask about the baby arriving? What baby?
Your bird pincushion is very cute!
Peace,
Kay
Adorable. I like the pumpkin too.
Very nice pin cushions. Life changes. Less time to blog and do special projects, but more time with family. =)
They are adorable!
And I'm the same way - I could easily become addicted to making/collecting these little guys.
Simple is good. :) Your bird pinnie is perfect.
Love the birdie! And I understand about not having pins around dogs. That's why my dog (Belle) is not allowed in my sewing room (and I wear shoes at all times). And a tomato pin cushion? Well, that's very mainstream. Good choice. Thanks for sharing your creativity today.
Adorable! You did a great job on your pin cushions!
Your bird is do pretty.. also your pumpkin. Thank you for sharing with us.
Love your pumpkin and the birdie too.
I adore your little birdie pincushion. Also love your pumpkin. Creative Bliss and Great Hop...
Thanks for sharing our birdie and pumpkin.
Love the pumpkin and the bird is really sweet.

Very cute pincushions. Made me smile too. :)
They are both lovely. Thanks for sharing and sorry I am late visiting.
What a good use for some scrap hexagons. I see creating a few from my stash of extras. I love the pumpkin. I have a similar one but it is made of cotton not wool. Mine comes out ever autumn. Thanks for sharing.
love the pumpkin.
I agree with you about pin cushions being utilitarian, but you did a great job with the bird. And I love your pumpkin! I wish you much luck with the baby arrival!

Looks like I'm a bit late getting to the party (or the hop). I'm much like you. I never pin anything unless I can't figure a way to get around it. I think I've only pinned one project and that was when my friend Kathy was at my house to help me.
Looks like this has been a very successful event. I'm glad I got to see your cute little birdie, too. It was great of you to create a pin cushion, even though you don't use them. I agree that pins and dogs (or even cats) can be a dangerous combination.
I love your pincushions. Thanks for sharing
sweet pin cushion even if you don't really use them. I understand the concerns about the pets running off with them as it seems like some will eat anything! Time to step back a bit but for a very good reason!
Cute bird pincushion!
Congrats on the baby!!!
Your pincushion is very tweet - aaahem!! :) I am almost compulsive about pinning so I can not imagine not using them.
Lovely pincushion. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on the soon to be new arrival.
I think your birdie is cute!
Cute birdie and pumpkin... be careful because pincushions can be become addictive!
What a sweet little pincushion and I really like your pumpkin too!
Wonderful pincushions, thank you for sharing!
Aw, they are both quite cute!
