I love how our lives are woven together.
.

Stick a pin in me . . . I'm done.

I have been a part of this wonderful community of
quilting hoppers for a few months now and I have enjoyed
each one so much. But I am going to have to step
back a bit as we are getting busy
preparing for the arrival of the baby.
There are only so many hours in the week
and I have so much sewing and painting
and shopping to do.
I will be around,
but mostly on instagram and facebook
I would love it if you would follow me over there.

I want to thank Madame Samm and Kristen for
all the hard work they did to put this hop together.
Today is my day to share my pincushions.

I have to admit I don't use a pin cushion.
because
 I rarely use pins.
Mostly because I am afraid I might drop one
and it would end up in a doggie paw
or worse, a doggie tummy.

But
pincushions are cute
 and
a great way to use up scraps.
So I made one.

Actually, I made two,
but Tucker got a hold of one and I can't find it.
I just hope he didn't eat it.

I have been seeing some pretty wonderful pincushions this week.
But for me a pincushion is utilitarian.
With that said I did "cutsiefy" this little cushion with a birdie.
(  have you noticed I seem to be in a bird phase  )
(  I hope it ends soon  )

This little birdie pincushion was made from scraps leftover from the owl quilt I made for the hexagon  hop.

I made this little pumpkin ten years ago,
 I think.
Not sure, could be even longer than that.

anyway these two will be enough for me

Hope you are having fun with this hop.
I have seen some very very pretty pincushions and
if I am not careful I could become a collector.
Those of you who really know me
know that this is so possible.

Thanks for stopping by.
Please take some time to visit
the other who are participating today.

I liked your pincushions. I do use pincushions.....because I tend to use pins as well. No doggy (or cat) paws have been affected just yet.... Mine have though.....a lot...In spite of all the pincushions around! Have fun preparing for the baby. I am following you on instagram and facebook now too!

Cute little birdie pc! I do use pins, in spite of having a cat, but I do keep count and if one is missing, a hunt begins. I've had many decades of quilting/sewing and several cats and dogs and not one pin has ever gone missing. Best of luck with the upcoming baby!

And I'm the same way - I could easily become addicted to making/collecting these little guys.

Simple is good. :) Your bird pinnie is perfect.

Love the birdie! And I understand about not having pins around dogs. That's why my dog (Belle) is not allowed in my sewing room (and I wear shoes at all times). And a tomato pin cushion? Well, that's very mainstream. Good choice. Thanks for sharing your creativity today.

What a good use for some scrap hexagons. I see creating a few from my stash of extras. I love the pumpkin. I have a similar one but it is made of cotton not wool. Mine comes out ever autumn. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like I'm a bit late getting to the party (or the hop). I'm much like you. I never pin anything unless I can't figure a way to get around it. I think I've only pinned one project and that was when my friend Kathy was at my house to help me.

Looks like this has been a very successful event. I'm glad I got to see your cute little birdie, too. It was great of you to create a pin cushion, even though you don't use them. I agree that pins and dogs (or even cats) can be a dangerous combination.

sweet pin cushion even if you don't really use them. I understand the concerns about the pets running off with them as it seems like some will eat anything! Time to step back a bit but for a very good reason!
