One World One Heart 2011

hi  !
I am so happy to be participating in One World One Heart this year. I have admired the many bloggers who have made One World One Heart the most wonderful event of the year. Where bloggers around the world meet and greet, share a smile, make new connections...and give a gift.
What I great idea!
Lisa, the Whimsical Bohemian, is the amazing hostess of One World One Heart.
If you have not heard of this, be sure to follow the link (above and below ) to learn more about it.
This is the 5th and final year. So lets have fun while it's here.

since this hop is all about meeting each other,
part of the plan is to tell you a little bit about myself

I am an Artist, Crafter, Quilter, Dog Lover, Gypsy
On any given day you will find me making something
(or shopping for stuff to make something)
I love to work with paper, fabric, metal, clay, beads.... well ....everything
I have painted, stitched, photographed, sculpted, drawn, beaded, drilled, hammered, altered, woven, soldered, stamped, pressed, bound, molded, felted, knotted, distressed, restored, recycled ...
I have a "lets try this and see what happens" philosophy....usually allowing the piece to develop as I go along.

I have been blogging since spring of 2010 but I am just now finding my voice and becoming relaxed enough to actually share my work. I still have a bit of difficulty with this but I am working on it.The blog friends I have made so far are helping me break out of my shell without even knowing it. I am so grateful for that.

I run a small private Sanctuary  for old dogs
I don't wear shoes whenever possible
my favorite drink is water
I am a night owl as well as an early bird
I live in the woods
the glass is half full. I take a nap everyday
I am not afraid of snakes or spiders.
I cried when Pluto was told it could not be a planet anymore.
I am a gemini ... no matter what "they" say
my husband is not my soul mate... but..... my husband is the best man for the job
some day I will tell you about my soul mate
Sean Connery could be my soul mate ...but he isn't (( just sayin' )).
I would rather buy art supplies than anything else
I cook for my dogs
I travel light
I collect
rubber stamps, coffee mugs, santas,  owls
I hoard
 lace, fabric, pape,r ribbon, books
I love
my home, old dogs, and puppies too, trees, sunsets,
red, words, old furniture, holidays, all seasons,
log cabins in the mountains, stars, cottages, beaches

For this  One World One Heart event I am happy to offer

Azura
the
 WinterMoonDancer

Azura is dressed in a blue, green and yellow knotted dress with a beaded skirt.
She lives on a fused fabric beach, which is actually a small wall hanging.
She has a pin on the back of her dress so she can go with you where ever you go.
She also has a loop in her hair so she can hang as an ornament.
She is 6 inches ( ~15 cm ) tall...not counting her hair
 her beach background is  8.5x10 inches  ( 21cm x27cm )

this  giveaway is open to all active bloggers worldwide
everyone who comments on this post is entered into the drawing
If your email address cannot be found either on your blog or in your blog profile
you must include it in your comment

I am also required to follow some rules
One World One Heart 2011
ends
on Feb 17th.
I will close comments on this post
A winner will be drawn and announced
The winner will also be contacted  by email
I will mail the prize as soon as I get the winner's mailing address

After you leave your comment..... head over to Lisa's.
you'll be amazed at the size of this event
One World One Heart !

and don't forget to thank Lisa while you are there !

Have Fun !
and you are always welcome here at RuffHaven

Thank you for sharing so much about yourself! I also hate wearing shoes, love dogs, and would rather buy craft supplies. I can't wait to hear about your soul mate...so intriguing! (and it's a good thing Sean Connery is not your soul mate or we'd might have to fight over him..lol)

Your Winter Moon Dancer is lovely! I hope you are having a wonderful journey through OWOH!

I love that you opened the sanctuary for "old dogs" and found your own haven - there really is something so pure about the love of a dog - i have four and they are my joy. i love your giveaway and the whimsical way you photographed her......is seriously making me long for an island beach far, far from maine.
please toss my name in the hat for azura, and please stop by for a visit before ending your journey. #657

Hi Marianne. I truly enjoyed reading your sweet, funny description of yourself and seeing your creations. I also was thoroughly cross when "they" disowned Pluto! And there's no such thing as an unwanted old dog in my world (or cat for that matter). Sad to say I've had a lifelong fear of spiders but I would not harm one unless it slapped me in the face or something.

Please feel free to visit me and enter my giveaway also. Just click on that my bloggy kitty and he'll direct you to my blog. Happy OWOH to you!

Hey Marianne, It's lovely to meet you via OWOH. I liked reading your intro. Right now, I have zero artwork on my blog... I feel kinda shy and awkward about putting it out there, but it's on my NY's resolutions to do so. Anyhoo, Azura is quite lovely. I adore the colors you chose for her. Please count me in. Cheers, Michelle #598
